  • Super Cold Science — Monday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. Children ages 6 and older will learn from staff members from the Museum of Science about what happens when temperatures really, really drop.
  • Catch the Beat Preschool Storytime — Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14-28. Children ages 2-5 will enjoy stories and music. Please sign up in advance.
  • Book Discussion: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows –Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 4 p.m.
  • Reading Readiness — Wednesdays, Aug. 15, 22, 29 at 10:30 a.m. Stories and songs lead to reading fun for children ages 18-36 months. Please sign up in advance.

  • Tio Samba — Thursday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Tio Samba plays Brazilian Choro and Samba music as part of the branch’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
  • Author Talk: Johnny Diaz — Thursday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Boston journalist and author Johnny Diaz reads from his book, Boston Boys Club as part of the branch’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
  • The Republic of Baseball Movie — Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. This film tells the story of the first Dominican baseball superstars. Part of the branch’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
  • Ten Tumbao — Saturday, Oct. 13, from 6 to 10 p.m. This Hispanic Heritage Month finale features live salsa music and dancing. Refreshments and reception at 6 p.m. Music begins at 7 p.m. Please use the branch’s rear entrance.
